about me

Ciao!
I am Andreas Liebschner and if you arrived here you probably know that I'm the person in charge of the slackware.com website and author of the Slackware Package browser. I cover some other charge here at Slackware Linux Project too, but no, I'm not an employee or anything like that. I'm taking part in the Project, and that's all about it :-)

I used to mantain "ftpinstall", a set of floppies images that could be used to install Slackware from an ftp server, but since ftpfs.o suddenly stopped to work I gave up on that. I am however working on a new ftp/http installation option for the Slackware Installer, we will see how it goes. So if you came here following some link, sorry but ftpinstall is no longer avaiable at the moment!

current projects

Here's a small list of personal slackware related projects.
Slackware's website test field: this is a website where I test stuff waiting to port them here on slackware.com
Slackware Package Browser: the PB allows to you browse and search Slackware packages and files with a web interface. If you run a Slackware related project and you need something like the Package Browser, you may want to give a look at the package browser scripts tarball. It includes the files I use to populate the database and keep it updated; it's licensed under BSD.. so feel free to use it the way you like it, and if you have any improvements to make, I'm all about them :-).
SLP-it: is the Italian Slackware Linux Community I created.
